She is an epidemiologist working on HPV-related diseases for over 35 years. Has been employed at WHO- IARC, the Catalan Institute of Oncology in, Spain, PATH in Seattle, and now she is a consultant at the USA National Cancer Institute(NCI). Her primary focus is preventing cervical cancer in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). She co-leads  the PAVE Consortium that aims to accelerate the control of cervical cancer through vaccination, screening, and adequate treatment in low-resource areas.
